Navigating parking in Cooperstown can be quite the adventure! During the bustling summer months from Memorial Day to Columbus Day, paid parking keeps things interesting—like a game of musical cars. Luckily, after Columbus Day and before the Memorial Day weekend, parking is as free as a home run ball flying out of the park.
One more thing to note: from Thanksgiving to April 1st, forget the clock—time limits on parking take a winter break, letting you explore downtown without watching the minutes tick by!

Two special paid parking lots will be available only on Sunday, July 21. These lots are located adjacent to the Blue Trolley Lot on Linden Avenue (paid lot is Cy Young Lot) and on Route 33 just east of the Induction Site (paid lot is the Hank Aaron Lot). Trolley service extends to the Cy Young Lot but neither Trolley nor bus service extends to the Hank Aaron Lot.

Three trolley lots, located just outside the village limits and color-coded in red, blue and yellow, are available for those visitors in the immediate Cooperstown village area. Parking in these lots is free, and a trolley ticket good for unlimited daily transportation costs $5, payable by cash only on the trolley. The trolley service will operate from 8:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily all weekend.

Only the Blue Lot Trolley will run to and from the Induction site.

The Hall of Fame will provide free shuttle buses from the corner of Main and Fair streets to the Induction site, with continuous service from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and then resuming at the conclusion of the Induction Ceremony. Shuttles will not run during the Induction Ceremony.

- Paid parking is in effect on portions of Main, Pioneer, Chestnut, and Fair Streets from Saturday, May 25th to Columbus Day, October 14th from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. every day.
- The parking rate is $2.50 per hour. Parking can be purchased in 15-minute increments for a maximum of 2 hours.
- Payment can be made at machines on the street or on the app, available for download at PassportParking.com.
- Machines accept coins and credit cards (no bills).
- Parking purchases made before 9 a.m. will be time-stamped to begin at 9 a.m.
- The receipt from the machine must be displayed face-up on the driver’s side dash.
- If using the app, you must enter your license plate number.
- Additional 2-hour increments can be purchased by returning to the machine or the app.
- Handicap Accessible parking spaces and designated 15-minute spaces are FREE.

The Doubleday Field Parking Lot will be unavailable for parking Friday, May 24th, and Saturday, May 25th.
- Paid parking is in effect from Sunday, May 26th through Columbus Day from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- The parking rate is $2.50 per hour or $15.00 for the whole day.
- All three machines accept coins and credit cards (no bills).
- Payment can also be made on the app, available at PassportParking.com.
- Parking purchases made before 9 a.m. will be time-stamped to begin at 9 a.m.
- The receipt from the machine must be displayed face-up on the driver’s side dash.
- If using the app, you must enter your license plate number.
- Handicap Accessible parking spaces and designated timed spaces are FREE.

- A permit allows for day and evening parking in the Fowler Way Lot.
- A permit also allows for 2 hours of on-street paid parking daily.
- After 4pm you may use your permit in the Doubleday Field lot, as well.
- Completed permit applications must be accompanied by the appropriate fee based on the number of cars in the household applying.
- Applications (Download Application), accessible at CooperstownNY.org, can be submitted or mailed to the Village Offices at 22 Main Street/ P.O. Box 346, Cooperstown, NY 13326.

Enjoy a relaxing visit and catch the Village Trolley to one of the many exciting Cooperstown attractions, such as the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum, The Farmers' Museum, Doubleday Field, Fenimore Art Museum, and downtown Cooperstown shopping.
The Trolley will run daily from 8:30 am - 6:30 pm starting Friday, May 24 (Memorial Day Weekend) through Labor Day Weekend ending Sunday, September 1.
Trolley Schedule
Saturday, May 25 and July 19-22, 2024 an All-Day Pass will be available for $5 per person, payable by cash only, on the trolley. Please bring exact change.
The following rates and payment options apply for the remainder of the trolley season:
Passes
- Daily Individual Pass $2.50
- Children under 5 free.
- Daily passes are available from the trolley driver, cash only.
- Daily passes may also be purchased with a credit or debit card at convenient kiosks located in the trolley parking lots or in front of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. A convenience fee will be added.
- Season Adult Pass $20
- Season Student Pass $10 (under 18 years old)
- Season Senior Citizen Pass $15
- Season passes can be purchased by cash, check, or credit card (a convenience fee applies) at then Village Office at 22 Main Street, Cooperstown.
Stops
The trolley will leave the Blue Lot at the south entrance to Cooperstown on the half-hour and hour beginning at 8:30am. The trolley will depart the Yellow Lot approximately 22 minutes after and 8 minutes before the hour beginning at 8:52am.
- Blue Trolley Lot: Off Route 28 just south of the Village of Cooperstown (traveling north on Rt. 28 from Oneonta, NY).
- Red Trolley Lot: Off Route 28 North (Glen Avenue) at Maple Street (traveling south on Route 28 from Route 20).
- Yellow Trolley Lot: On Route 80 at the upper parking lot of Fenimore Art Museum (traveling south on Route 80 from Route 20).

Consider the Trolley Park and Ride as an alternative. Look for the 'Park and Take the Trolley!' signs as you approach Cooperstown. Parking is FREE, but Trolley Rates apply.

- In Cooperstown, municipal units are conveniently located in the Doubleday Field parking lot. Parking fees and charging fees apply.

- Vehicles over 20 feet in length are prohibited from parking on all Village streets.
- RV parking is FREE at each of the three Trolley Lot. The Red Lot is on Main Street, conveniently just a few blocks from the Hall of Fame. (Find more Trolley Lot information below.)
