Hyde Hall
Hyde Hall is a 19th century neoclassical mansion, home to the Clarke family, is one of early America's great estates. Discover unique architecture and explore the mansion, sprawling grounds, and the family crypt. Be sure to visit the Hyde Hall covered bridge – it's the oldest covered bridge in New York state.
Greater Oneonta History Center
Discover the Upper Susquehanna Valley at the Greater Oneonta History Center. Check out an exhibit celebrating the Oneonta and download a self-guided walking tour of Oneonta on your phone. The History Center is located in the oldest building on Main Street. Murals illustrate the businesses that have occupied the building over the last 150 years, including a hardware store, a bank, a candy and ice cream store, and a dress shop.
Cooperstown/Charlotte Valley Railroad
Hop on the history train! The Cooperstown/Charlotte Valley Railroad was opened in 1869 to serve Cooperstown and the surrounding area. It was named a heritage railroad in 1996. The wildly popular railroad hosts numerous special event rides, including fall foliage trains and a pumpkin patch special. And oh what fun it is to ride!
The Farmers' Museum
The Farmers' Museum celebrates upstate NY's rural heritage. Visit the 19th century village, made of restored historic buildings from across New York State, and the Lippitt Farmstead, a working 19th-century farm. You can even take a spooky, lantern-lit tour of the museum by night if you visit on a few special nights in October.
