Butternut Barn Primitives opened in June 1977. The shop is situated in our Circa 1848 two-story Carriage Barn. The timeless atmosphere & ambiance of the hand-hewn beams & wooden floors complete a sense of yesteryears to our primitive style shop. We are a family-owned and operated business. Thanks to our customers we are celebrating many years in business! The Barn is situated a few yards South of Scenic Route 20 on Allen's Lake Road, County Rt 27 just outside the Historic Village of Richfield Springs, NY. A pleasant country drive from any direction only fifteen minutes from Cooperstown, West Winfield or the villages in the Mohawk Valley, a half-hour from the Utica vicinity and about an hour away from either the Albany or Syracuse areas. A destination worth making!

Spring Park, with its signature clock and venerable band stand, are the centerpieces of the village of Richfield Springs, located midway on the designated NYS Route 20 Scenic Byway. Once home to hotels and guest houses, seven trains of visitors arrived daily to enjoy the health benefits of Richfield's sulphur springs.
