Viva La Vida: Frida Fiesta Annual Benefit Gala for The Farmers’ Museum and NYSHA on July 15thJune 30, 2011 - Annual Benefit Gala Slated for July 15th in Cooperstown COOPERSTOWN, NY - The New York State Historical Association and The Farmers' Museum will host the 8th annual benefit gala, "Viva La Vida: Frida Fiesta," on Friday, July 15, at 6:30 p.m. - a fabulous evening of dining, dancing, live entertainment, with a silent and live auction. A highlight of the Cooperstown summer season, the Gala will take place at the Louis C. Jones Center at The Farmers' Museum. The evening's theme celebrates the Fenimore Art Museum's feature exhibition Frida Kahlo: Through the Lens of Nicholas Muray. Over 60 items have been assembled for the Gala's silent and live auctions. This is a rare opportunity to find unprecedented bargains on offerings such as aweek stay in Marathon, Florida the week of November 12th; a great downstateexcursion along the Hudson; Broadway tickets to "Jersey Boys;" and six days in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Many more items will be available including works of art by noted artists such as Robert Schneider and Susan Jones Kenyon, an adorable child's Windsor chair made by John Los, and a stunning carved Blue Heron by Jonathan Dowdall.
