COOPERSTOWN, NY - The Smithy is delighted to host Glimmerglass Opera's celebration of National Opera Week October 29- November 5. During that time, an exhibit curated by the Opera will be on display that features work created by the students of schools in Otsego County and represents their concept of opera. Also featured will be mock sets and costumes straight from the Glimmerglass stage. There will be an opening reception with wine and light fare from 5-7 PM on October 29th. The exhibit can be viewed Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2-5 PM. To close the week, The Smithy and Glimmerglass will host a free reception on Friday, November 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. 2010 Young Artist J'nai Bridges will perform at 7 p.m., offering a preview of Glimmerglass's 2011 summer production of Carmen.

ON SATURDAY...

The Smithy is pleased to participate in "Night at Your Museum" at the Fenimore Art Museum on Saturday, November 6th from 7-9 PM. There will be lots of wonderful tables with children's activities (and pottery demos at The Smithy table!), as well as live musical entertainment and much more.
