The Farmers' Museum Presents "The Real Dirt on Farmer John" FilmFebruary 2, 2011 - The Farmers' Museum and Otsego 2000 Partner to Offer Foof and Farm Film Series COOPERSTOWN, NY - The Farmers' Museum and Otsego 2000 have partnered together again to sponsor the Food and Farm Series. A special panel discussion will be held following each film featuring Garet Livermore (Vice President for Education at The Farmers' Museum), Ellen Pope (Otsego 2000 Executive Director), and a special guest relating to the film. The Real Dirt on Farmer John shares the epic tale of a maverick Midwestern farmer. This unprecedented story captures the rise and fall of the Peterson family farm and its resurrection through John's courage to build a new form of community. Against all odds, eccentric Peterson abandons conventional chemical farming and fights local hysteria to build a thriving organic farm and a progressive farm community. By melding the traditions of family farming with the power of art and free expression, this powerful story of transformation and renewal heralds a resurrection of farming in America. The Real Dirt on Farmer John Film to be shown at Fenimore Art Museum Auditorium.
