Heat Up the Night at The Farmers' Museum in Cooperstown This FebruaryJanuary 25, 2012 - Join in an evening of music, food and fun at The Farmers' Museum Feb. 11 COOPERSTOWN, NY - The Farmers' Museum invites you to join in an evening of music, food, and activities that is sure to keep your feet stomping and your heart pumping - all while supporting local school children. "Heat Up The Night," will take place on Saturday, February 11th from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the Museum's Louis C. Jones Center. The event will benefit museum programming for area schools. This year, the event will be held in conjunction with the Cooperstown Winter Carnival and its "Carnival" theme. Come hear live music from local favorite "Bourbon & Branch" as well as the Cooperstown High School Jazz Band; enjoy games and activities such as hula hoop races, face painting, and even a limbo contest. There will be goody bags with masks to decorate, beads and more. Partake in food and drink with sales to benefit the Cooperstown High School Jazz Band. Tickets are $5.00 (ages 7 and up). Children 6 and under are free! Since 2008, NYSHA has seen a sharp increase in requests from local schools for assistance in field trip funding. Responding to this need, NYSHA has written grants and allocated resources that have allowed schools and community groups to visit the Fenimore Art Museum and The Farmers' Museum. Since support is still needed, NYSHA has developed a fund that will be available to all New York State Schools for museum programming. The monies will go primarily to transportation costs, but all types of needs will be considered. Funds will be made available immediately after the event and interested schools should call (607) 547-1461 for details. Time:
