August 27, 2010 - SPACEMAN: A Baseball Odyssey To Be Screened at 1 p.m. in Museum’s Bullpen Theater

COOPERSTOWN, NY - Baseball film enthusiasts from all over the country have marked their calendars for the Hall of Fame's annual Baseball Film Festival.

But for those who can't wait for October, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will present a special film reel tribute to Latin American baseball on Saturday, Sept. 4.

The Hall of Fame will host a screening of SPACEMAN: A Baseball Odyssey as part of the presentation at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, in the Museum's Bullpen Theater. The film, which was a 2006 Baseball Film Festival selection, takes a look at former big league pitcher Bill "Spaceman" Lee and his baseball journey to Cuba.

The film is a part of a reel dedicated to Latin American baseball and assembled by Reel Hardball: Movies from Left Field. Admission to the screening is included with a Museum ticket.

For more information, please visit www.hofclubhouse.com .

The Baseball Film Festival will be held at the Hall of Fame Oct. 1-3. A list of the films scheduled to be screened will be announced in the coming weeks.
