Hall of Fame Classic Weekend Slated for June 18-19


March 17, 2011 - The Baseball Hall of Fame hosts the return of a new tradition on Father’s Day

COOPERSTOWN, NY - The Baseball Hall of Fame hosts the return of a new tradition on Father's Day, June 19, with the third annual Hall of Fame Classic, presented by Ford Motor Company...The Classic will be played at historic Doubleday Field in Cooperstown and feature Hall of Famers Andre Dawson, Goose Gossage, Phil Niekro, Tony Perez, Jim Rice, Ozzie Smith and Dick Williams along with more than 20 retired players.


The full weekend of events will feature the new Cooperstown Getaway Classic Fest at Doubleday Field on Saturday, June 18; the Cooperstown Golf Classic, the new Hall of Fame Showcase at Doubleday Field, a youth skills clinic, a Hall of Fame Member Photo Opportunity for fans, a pregame parade on June 19 and a pregame Legends Hitting Contest at Doubleday Field and much more.


Tickets for the 2011 Hall of Fame Classic will first be available on Saturday, April 16, at 9 a.m., through a one-day sale at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Tickets will be available as long as they remain on Saturday. A 12-ticket maximum per ticket purchaser applies. Concurrently on Saturday, April 16, tickets will be available for Museum members by phone at 1-866-849-7770 and via the Internet at www.baseballhall.org beginning at 9 a.m. ET. The exclusive member window to purchase tickets for the Hall of Fame Classic will continue through business hours on Sunday, April 24.

Should any Classic tickets remain on Monday, April 25, they will be available via phone, the Internet and in-person at the Hall of Fame's Museum store, while supplies last.
