Glimmerglass Presents Free ConcertAugust 11, 2009 - August 14th Free Concert in Cooperstown COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. - Latin Lovers, a free concert in collaboration with the New York Festival of Song (NYFOS), will take place at Glimmerglass Opera's Alice Busch Opera Theater on Friday, August 14, at 4 p.m. NYFOS Artistic Director and pianist Steven Blier will accompany members of Glimmerglass Opera's 2009 Young American Artists Program. Latin Lovers, a program created by Blier, will take audience members on a journey to Latin America through popular music, art songs and zarzuela arias from Cuba, Argentina and Brazil. The concert will feature sopranos Jamilyn Manning-White and Jacqueline Noparstak, mezzo-sopranos Rebecca Jo Loeb and Cecelia Hall, tenors Gennard Lombardozzi and Joshua Whitener, and baritones Kevin Wetzel and Joshua Jeremiah. This concert is made possible by a grant from the Aaron Copland Fund for Music, Inc. Supplemental Program. Those interested in attending must call the Glimmerglass Opera Box Office at (607) 547-2255 to reserve tickets.
