Fly Creek Cider Mill Hosts 15th Annual Antique Engine Show August 29 and 30


July 15, 2009 - Fly Creek Community Day Celebration Features Tastings, Tent Sale and More!

FLY CREEK, N.Y. - The Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard will host its 15th Annual Antique Engine Show Saturday and Sunday, August 29 and 30. Single-cylinder gas engine enthusiasts from the region will join together to display their prized antiques from the early 1900's. The Show will also feature the Mill's own collection of vintage equipment. On Saturday the Mill will hold an inventory reduction tent sale in conjunction with the Fly Creek Community Days area-wide garage sales. Another Saturday feature will be a special focused tasting of apple salsa as part of the Mill's Taste of Fly Creek Series. The Mill's famous apple salsas in mild, hot and apple cranberry variety will be available for sampling, and special promotions and recipes will be offered.   Saturday will be a bustling day in Fly Creek as the hamlet comes alive with over 50 yard sales, shows and special events spread throughout Fly Creek Valley. The Fly Creek Area Historical Society will be exhibiting Fly Creek artifacts and exhibits in addition to a lunch served at the Old Grange Hall on Cemetery Road. A bake sale will be held at the Methodist church and the Fire Company will put on a Pancake Breakfast. Further north in Fly Creek Valley the Dancing Veggies Farm will hold its annual Garlic Harvest Celebration with many displays of this season's fresh garlic together with garlic specialty products.   Visitors for all events are encouraged to register at the Grange Hall and receive a map of all the participating sales designated by orange balloons.  For more information on please visit the Mill's website at www.flycreekcidermill.com.
