Fans Experience Thrill of Hall of Fame Weekend on ‘Road Trip to Cooperstown’ Thursday on ESPN

August 19, 2010 - Behind-the-Scenes Look at Baseball’s Best Weekend Debuts at 9 p.m.

COOPERSTOWN, NY - Tens of thousands of fans every summer experience the thrill of Induction Weekend at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.

On Thursday night, ESPN will take many more fans from around the world behind the scenes of baseball's most cherished celebration in "Holiday Inn presents: MLB 2010: Road Trip to Cooperstown."

The one-hour special, which debuts tonight at 9 p.m. EDT on ESPN, documents the experience of the July 23-26 Hall of Fame Induction Weekend through the eyes of five key participants: 2010 Hall of Fame inductee Andre Dawson; 2010 Ford C. Frick Award winner and ESPN/San Francisco Giants broadcaster Jon Miller; Hall of Fame shortstop Ozzie Smith; Jason Long, the owner of Schneider's Bakery, a Cooperstown institution since 1887; and Robert and Byah McGee of North Carolina, long-time fans of baseball and Dawson who were making their first pilgrimage to Cooperstown.

Narrated by award-winning actor Powers Boothe, "Road Trip to Cooperstown" showcases all the pageantry and excitement of Induction Weekend through the cameras of MLB Productions. Viewers receive a backstage pass to enjoy baseball history during the memorable four-day Induction Weekend.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. seven days a week through the day before Labor Day. Regular Museum hours are from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily until Memorial Day Weekend.
