Engine Enthusiasts and Lawn Sale Shoppers Delight in Fly Creek

August 23, 2010 - Cider Mill hosts engine show and annual tent sale this weekend

FLY CREEK, NY - The Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard will host its 16th Annual Antique Engine Show Saturday and Sunday, August 28 & 29. Single-cylinder gas engine enthusiasts around the region will join together in displaying their prized antiques from the early 1900's.  New to the show this year is an early 1900's E.R. Thomas Experimental Auto from the collection of Richard Henza of Cortland, NY.  Mr. Henza's car and memorabilia display have won multiple best-in-show awards at AACA events throughout the Northeast.   The experimental car with its 1900 C.N. Cady gas engine can be viewed Saturday only, however many other rare and collectible engines will be on display the entire weekend.

On Saturday only the Mill will hold an inventory reduction tent sale in conjunction with the Fly Creek Community Days area-wide lawn sales.  In addition the Mill will feature another popular focused tasting in its Taste of Fly Creek Series.  Chef Tom Eriksen will demonstrate Rothschild's Buffalo Bleu Cheese Dip, Blackberry Honey Mustard Pretzel Dip, Asian Sesame Grill Sauce and Artichoke Dip.  These products that are easy to prepare make a wonderful presentation at parties. Special promotions and recipes will be offered.

In Fly Creek and throughout the Valley Saturday will bustle with over 50 lawn sales, shows and special events.  The Fly Creek Area Historical Society will display Fly Creek artifacts and exhibits. Lunch will be available at the Old Grange Hall on Cemetery Road, a bake sale will be at the Methodist Church, and the Fire Company will put on a Pancake Breakfast

Visitors for all events are encouraged to register at the Grange Hall and receive a map of the participating sales designated by orange balloons.  For more information these events visit the Mill's website at www.flycreekcidermill.com.
