Celebrate a Summer Tradition in Cooperstown at the Hall of Fame’s All-Star Gala on July 13


July 2, 2010 - Event at Grandstand Theater features food and fun during live showing of All-Star Game

COOPERSTOWN, NY - The home of baseball is once again celebrating the best of baseball with an annual mid-summer tradition.

Cooperstown-area visitors and central New Yorkers can watch the 2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in style at the popular All-Star Gala at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum on Tuesday, July 13. Fans can enjoy the game in ballpark seating in the Hall of Fame's Grandstand Theater as they watch Fox's live television coverage from Anaheim, Calif.

The Hall of Fame All-Star Gala provides an evening of family entertainment with prizes, snacks and more for baseball fans of every age. Doors to the Grandstand Theater open at 7:30 p.m., with game coverage beginning at 8 p.m.

Fans will be treated to ballpark-style hot dogs and snacks, along with a limited edition commemorative All-Star Gala button for all guests in attendance. Scorecards will be distributed to fans, and official All-Star Game programs will be available for purchase. During the game's inning breaks, fans will be able to compete in a variety of games and trivia contests for an opportunity to win door prizes.

Tickets to the All-Star Gala are now available to participants in the Hall of Fame's Membership Program and cost $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets can be reserved in advance by calling the Museum's Membership Department at 607-547-0397 or by visiting the Membership and Museum Services Desk at the Museum in Cooperstown. The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is open seven days a week year round, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the Museum is open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. The Museum observes regular hours of 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. from the day after Labor Day until Memorial Day Weekend. Ticket prices are $16.50 for adults (13 and over), $11 for seniors (65 and over) and for those holding current memberships in the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and AMVets organizations, and $6 for juniors (ages 7-12). Members are always admitted free of charge and there is no charge for children 6 years of age or younger.
