• America’s oldest existing covered bridge, built in 1825, sits quietly on the grounds of the stunning Hyde Hall estate. This National Historic Landmark is a 50-room neoclassic country mansion with a commanding view of Otsego Lake.

• The Otsego Golf Club, est. 1894, is one of the nations' oldest. Located at the northern end of Otsego Lake, it was the scene of the adventures of the Deer Slayer.

Baroque Concert Tonight at Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival


August 11, 2010 - The Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival presents "Handel, Telemann, Bach & Vivaldi"

COOPERSTOWN, NY - The Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival continues the tradition of featuring singers from Glimmerglass Opera. Tonight's concert features soprano Joélle Harvey, who sings Seleuce in Glimmerglass Opera's Tolomeo this season. Last year, Anthony Roth Costanzo, (who sings the role of Tolomeo opposite Ms. Harvey) was featured at the Festival.

Tonight at 7:30 pm
The Cooperstown Chamber Music Festival presents:
"Handel, Telemann, Bach & Vivaldi."

Also performing at the August 11th concert are:

  • Bradley Brookshire, harpsichord
  • Linda Chesis, flute
  • Owen Dalby, violin
  • Loretta O'Sullivan, cello
  • Janice Jinyoung Shin, oboe

The concert includes Handel arias, Vivaldi's Il Grosso Mogul, Bach's Italian Concerto, and Telemann's Paris Quartet in D major. The concert will be held at Cooperstown's Christ Church, 46 River Street. James Fenimore Cooper was a member of this beautiful and historic church, which just celebrated its 200th anniversary.

The Festival continues with The Great American Songbook with the award-winning cabaret duo Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano on 8/13 at the Otesaga, American Spirit with Music from Copland House 8/18 at The Farmers' Museum, and the Anderson & Roe Piano Duo 8/22 and 8/23 at The Farmers' Museum.
