A New York State of Mind Quilt Show at The Farmers’ Museum ­ 2 Days Only


October 8, 2010 - 2010 Quilt Contest in a two-day exhibition titled A New York State of Mind Quilt Show

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. - See the winners of The Farmers' Museum's 2010 Quilt Contest in a two day exhibition titled A New York State of Mind Quilt Show. This weekend event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, October 16 and 17, from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at The Farmers' Museum in Cooperstown.See quilts from 22 skilled finalists, from across New York State and the surrounding region, in this juried competition.

Prizes will be awarded to winners in three categories: New York Beauties - quilts based on traditional styles, motifs and fabrication; Hometown New York - quilts celebrating the hometown of the crafter; and Carousel Quilts - quilts drawing on the color and creativity of the carousel tradition. Additional awards will be given including the visitor chosen Audience Favorite.

While you're there, take advantage of everything The Farmers' Museum has to offer including The Empire State Carousel, craft demonstrations, and much more. Purchase a discounted two-way ticket and also visit the Fenimore Art Museum with its outstanding collection of folk art, American fine art, and Native American art.

This special exhibit is on view two days only - Saturday and Sunday, October 16 and 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Louis C. Jones Center at The Farmers' Museum. Admission price includes full access to The Museum. Adults (13-64) $10.00; Seniors (65+) $9.00; Children (7-12) $5.50.
