The Landscape We Call Home: Works on Paper by Deborah Geurtze

The Art Garage in Cooperstown will be hosting a one-person exhibition and sale featuring colorful large-scale works on paper by legendary formerly local artist Deborah Geurtze, on view through mid-February. The two-day Opening Reception is Sunday, December 15, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Monday, December 16, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Ms. Geurtze made art in her Toddsville studio for 25 years. Her hand-colored etchings and luminous monotypes have garnered numerous awards in national juried festivals and in national and international shows. In addition to capturing the essence of the Otsego region, Ms. Geurtze 's work also references the Adirondacks, where she once worked for the Park Agency, preserving visually sensitive viewsheds, along with the rare wild habitats.
