The Art Garage opens its 2017 season with a two-person show, Pushing Boundaries, that features a cameo display of recent fiber and clay sculpture by Marcie Schwartzman, Cooperstown, NY; and a mini retrospective of paintings by Leandro Velasco, Bainbridge, NY, that encompasses several decades and artistic styles. The opening reception is Friday, June 2, 5-7PM, at Cooperstown's popup gallery at 689 Beaver Meadow Road. The gallery will be open daily by appointment, and Saturdays 10AM-1PM. The show runs through Saturday, July 8, and will include a public program featuring the two artists.
"Our 2017 season is, as always, about intriguing, original work," noted Sydney Waller, Art Garage owner and curator. "This year we invite viewers to view the art and think about context—to appreciate the work and the artists within the framework of the current shifting, cultural landscape."
