Every fall, the Classical Guitar Society of Upstate New York presents the Annual Classical Guitar Fall Festival, a two-day event held in the rolling hills of Oneonta, New York, set against the backdrop of the area's beautiful fall foliage.
On Saturday, the Festival features CGSUNY members performing throughout day with solo guitar music, ensembles of guitar and other instruments and voice, and mini-workshops. On Saturday evening, the headline artist will perform. This year's headliner will be Paul O'Dette, who will be performing at 7:30 p.m. at the SUNY Oneonta Fine Arts Building. Paul O'Dette will also be conducting a masterclass on Sunday morning.
Sunday afternoon events include a Collegiate recital by students from across the state, and culminate with a Sunday afternoon recital featuring a regional artist, this year being Pablo Cohen, chair of the Guitar Department at Ithaca College. The Sunday performance will be taking place at 3:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, located at 12 Ford Avenue in Oneonta.
Other festival events include a silent action, a vendor's fair, and an artist reception.
