One-Day Tour
(Available mid-January through March on Saturdays)
10 am: Famous Chef Lucy Townsend will demonstrate how to make an elegant winter luncheon, with your help - from soup to nuts, table settings to wines - at Templeton Hall, one of Cooperstown's oldest churches, refurbished, of course. You'll reap the benefits of your efforts over your noon meal.
1 pm: Explore downtown Cooperstown - a Main Street tour with guide Paul Kuhn will teach you about the illustrious history of Cooperstown, the Cooper and Clark families and our "ghosts." Paul's anecdotal tales are sure to give you a different "taste of the Village of Cooperstown."
2 pm: Now that you've experienced a "modern meal" and "taste of Cooperstown," you'll travel to The Farmers' Museum's Lippitt Farm House, where you'll learn how to cook over an open hearth, just as the pioneers did during the 1840s - no microwaves here!
3:30 pm: Everybody knows "Great Beer Deserves Great Food" at Brewery Ommegang, a Belgian-style brewery located just south of Cooperstown. Local chefs partner with Ommegang's awesome beer to create new recipes and spice up some old ones. You'll learn firsthand which of Ommegang's beers work the best with different foods – by actually tasting these delicious brews.
