Greater Oneonta Historical Society

Oneonta’s history is the history of the railroad - home to the Huntingtons and the world’s largest roundhouse. It’s the beginnings of IBM and of aerial and landscape photography – birthplace of Sherman Fairchild and Carleton Watkins. It’s the site of a famous TB hospital, and it’s Soccertown USA – the origins of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. It’s the story of two colleges – SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick. Today, it’s a friendly and welcoming community, where Life’s Enjoyed in the City of the Hills!
